Because the light stand has to pass through the zipper opening, the range of tilt is very limited. The conventional wisdom, as others have pointed out, is to use a boom arm to get any tilt angle you want since the tilting happens outside of the umbrella.
The included travel case is well made as well, but lacks a handle. Guess what? I have some web strap and a sewing machine; problem solved!
Set up is pretty straight forward and it opens up just like an umbrella. There is a zippered opening to get your stand through the bottom and then mount the flash on the inside.
Pros:
- Easy set up and take down, although there it is a bit of trick to fold the diffuser panel correctly to get it back into the carry bag with the softbox. I’m sure once you do it a few times, it will not be an issue.
- Size – this thing is really large (over 4 feet diameter!) once you get it set up and you can direct a nice wall of light with this thing.
- Diffuser makes a wonderful soft light.
- Seems like it is well constructed for the price. I am not sure if it would survive a tumble in the wind, but I plan on mostly using this indoors.
- Provides good lighting with both a speedlight and plug-in strobe.
Cons:
- The flash unit goes inside the umbrella. If you have a manual flash, adjustments are best dialed in before you Velcro on the diffuser panel. Having it on the inside really can’t be avoided with this style of softbox, but it’s something to be aware of before buying.
- There is no articulating arm on the mount, so you will not be able to angle this unit. Your only option is straight up and down. Because it is so large, it hasn’t been a problem for me. One other reviewer suggested mounting it on a boom stand, which would be a pretty easy solution to adjust the angle.
Overall, I am very happy with this softbox and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable, yet quality entry to expand their flash photography gear. I have had a good experience with the Neewer brand so far. I have this softbox paired with the Neewer 250W Studio Flash and I have been very happy with the results.

If there’s wind, be ready to catch it. The white diffraction cover attaches with Velcro and works fine. No major complaints.
Are there better, more precise reflective soft box style flash umbrellas? Sure, but you get what you pay for. Happy flashing

I did purchase the speedlight mount, as well, since I'd never used it off camera before, but already had a light stand. One point to note is that my light stand (from the aforementioned continuous light kit) is fairly light, so in order to use this softbox outdoors, I think I'd want to purchase something a bit sturdier for fear that this would topple over with the slightest breeze.

IMPORTANT NOTE: the first and third pictures have a grid attached. This grid was purchased separately, and is not a NEEWER product. That said, it fit the 47" soft box perfectly.
I have used this product as a four-in-one.
1. An umbrella reflector (i.e. Without the white diffuser panel in front).
2. An Octabox softbox (i.e. With the white diffuser panel in front).
3. A GRIDED Octabox softbox (i.e. Grid attached to front)
4. Background. This means using the octabox with a flash inside as the background in a headshot. The end result is a high key shot.
An additional way this could be used is as a flag. Now I haven't tested this yet, but I am assuming that if the octabox is in an open position and you turn it the other way, then using another light source to illuminate subject, the back of the box could be used to deflect light from where it's not required (because it's black). I will try this one day.
